Beyond the request logs every website keeps, this site collects two things: what you type into the enquiry form, and what Google Analytics records about your visit. We use the first to reply to you and the second to see which pages people read.

What the enquiry form collects
Every form on the site asks for your name and email address. Depending on the form, it also asks for your company or your website, the service you are interested in, and what you want to achieve. It records which page you sent it from, so we know what you were reading.
When you press send, the details go to our server, which emails them to our team through Resend, an email delivery service. Your email address is set as the reply address, so we can answer you directly. The form sends your details to us and to no one else, and we use them to reply to you and to talk about working together.
To keep spam out, the form first fetches a short-lived code from our server. If a submission is refused as spam, our server writes the email address it carried and the reason to our hosting logs, so that a real enquiry caught by mistake can be found.
Analytics and cookies
The site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets two first-party cookies, one named _ga and one whose name starts with _ga_, to tell a new visitor from a returning one. Google Analytics records the pages you view, the site that sent you, your device and browser type, and an approximate location worked out from your IP address. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
Google processes this data under its own terms, and explains how it uses information from sites that use its services. You can turn Google Analytics off with Google’s opt-out browser add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser settings. The site works the same either way.
These are the only cookies the site sets. It carries no advertising pixels, and no embedded video, map or social widget that would set cookies of its own.
Hosting and logs
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel receives the standard details your browser sends with each request, including your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
How long we keep it
An enquiry stays in our email for as long as we need it to reply and to keep a record of the conversation. Ask and we will delete yours. Google Analytics data is kept for the period set in our Google Analytics account, after which Google deletes it.
Your choices
Email hello@katama.io to ask what we hold about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted. Depending on where you live, local law may give you further rights, such as objecting to how your data is used or complaining to a data protection authority, and we will help you use them.
The site is for businesses and is not aimed at children.
Changes to this policy
When the site changes what it collects, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
